Table Skirting

I never thought table skirting is so easy. I learned it from my culinary class. Here is the shot. I had a lot photos in here but I only post one. Before, I don't how to make one, I thought it was so hard and complicated. Some of my classmates find it so hard. It made me think if you are interested in one thing you can easily understand and apply it. I enjoy doing the table skirting that day...

A Gift

Sometimes it's nice to give something to someone that is very useful. I have a chinese friend who are twins and they are celebrating their natal day. I bought some books as my gift for them. Even if they are twins, they have different hobbies, likes, collections, dreams, etc. The other one have a strong personality who enjoy reading and collecting books specially John Grisham. The other one has a passion in cooking and had a bunch of recipes books collections, whew! We are more vibes because I'm a frustrated chef and she teached me a lot of tips and even gave me some ingredients which I don't have in our kitchen. Anyway, we are neighbors, lol! They are so nice, have an open-heart, cool, god-fearing, generous, friendly and strike anywhere . They are one in a million friends. That is why we always treasure and nourish our friendship.

True Friendship

I made this video last year. A compilation of photos with my friends. Time flies by swiftly. What we have go through from laughters, tears , pains and success is still fresh on my mind. In this time how can we find friends and friendships which are true and trustable. Friendships involve recognition or familiarity with another's personality. Friends must share likes and dislikes, interest, views, passion of their life and world. This gives a lot of recognition with the person whom we need have friendship.

True friendship involves action. Doing something for someone else while expecting nothing in return; sharing thoughts and feelings without fear of judgement or negative criticism. True friendship involves relationships. Friendship takes time - time to get to know each other, time to build shared memories, time to invest in each other's growth.Trust is essential to true friendship. We all need someone with whom we can share our lives, thoughts, feelings, and frustrations. We need to be able to share our deepest secrets with someone, without worrying that those secrets will end up on the Internet the next day! In true friendship, there is no backbiting, no negative thoughts, no turning away. A real true friendship offers helping hands to the friends who are in trouble. Real and true friendship involves freedom of choice, accountability, truth, and forgiveness. Real friendship looks at the heart, not just the "packaging." Genuine friendship loves for love's sake, not just for what it can get in return.

Let's try to get more true friendships in this earth.

Madagascar Escape 2 Africa

My friends and I certainly enjoyed the movie. We laugh out so loud.Whew! A giraffe in love with a hippo, a zebra with an identity crisis, a lion desperate to win his newfound daddy's respect . I also like the song "I Like to Move It." The synopsis - Hoping to return to New York via a penguin-piloted plane, the four animal friends crash land in the plains of Africa.

Here are the Characters and their personality:

Alex the lion is a star in New York. He is the king.
Gloria born and raised in the Central Park Zoo. Smart and independent woman who knows what she wants and knows how to get it.
Melman the hypochrondiac giraffe was transferred to the Central Park Zoo as a young adult.
Marty the Zebra is a dreamer and an adventurer.
Penguins my favorite spend their days planning an escape..hehe!

The Success of 2nd Mindanao Bloggers Summit

I had fun during the 2nd Mindanao Bloggers Summit. It was a huge success. Great speakers with superb presentation, freebies -wohhaa! great sashimi night cocktails. I've learned a lot from this Summit. The importance of this summit or shall I say blogging is informing people about what's going on in Mindanao not only Mindanao but worldwide. Most participants were from General Santos City , Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Zamboanga and guests from Manila. Mostly of the participants were newbie in blogosphere.

Got a lot of shots and met a lot of new friends. Finally I met in person Kuya Avel Manansala aka Bariles , Hector M. and lot more. Here are some of the photos.

My Best Friend's Girl

My cousin Toni and I went to see this movie tonight. We find it hilarious but some was way too offensive . Dane Cook is a real asshole in the film. Kate is adorable as ever & very funny. Jason Biggs is a lot of fun too. Alec Baldwin's character was just plain creepy. It has lots of raw/naughty humor but it's a great laugh!! With today's problems who can't use a good laugh? Running time is about 1 hour and 43 minutes.

The story is about Smart, beautiful and headstrong, Alexis (Kate) is the girl of Dustin's dreams. But after only five weeks of dating, the love-struck Dustin is coming on so strong that Alexis is forced to slow things down permanently. Devastated and desperate to get her back, Dustiwn turns to his best friend, Tank, the rebound specialist. A master at seducing and offending women, Tank gets hired by freshly dumped guys to take their ex-girlfriends out on the worst date of their lives--an experience so horrible it sends them running gratefully back to their beaus. But when Tank works his magic on Alexis, he ends up meeting the challenge of a lifetime. Alexis is the first girl who knows how to call his bluff, and Tank soon finds himself torn between his loyalty to Dustin and a strange new attraction to his best friend's girl.

MANILA, Philippines - The Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAD) added Wednesday 22 brands of infant milk powder to its "black list" of melamine-tainted products to avoid.

In a newspaper ad on the Philippine Star, the BFAD said this brought to 24 the number of products that consumers should avoid and report to authorities.

"Beware of these products! Alagaan ang kalusugan (Protect our health). If you see any of these products please call the BFAD (at) 8425606, 8070721, 8070725," it said in its message.

The BFAD said the 22 products were based on an advisory from the Philippine embassy in Beijing.

Tomato Story

A friend of mine forwarded this to me. I just thought to share it with you and let me know what moral of the story did you realize....

A Jobless man applied for the position of 'office boy' at Microsoft.
The HR manager interviewed him then watched him cleaning the floor as a test.

'You are employed' he said. Give me your e-mail address and I'll send
you the application to fill in, as well as date when you may start.

The man replied 'But I don't have a computer, neither an email'.

'I'm sorry', said the HR manager. If you don't have an email, that
means you do not exist. And who doesn't exist, cannot have the job.'

The man left with no hope at all. He didn't know what to do, with only
$10 in his pocket. He then decided to go to the supermarket and buy a
10Kg tomato crate.
He then sold the tomatoes in a door to door round. In less than two hours,
he succeeded to double his capital. He repeated the operation three times,
and returned home with $60.

The man realized that he can survive by this way, and started to go
everyday earlier, and return late. Thus, his money doubled or tripled
everyday.

Shortly, he bought a cart, then a truck, and then he had his own fleet
of delivery vehicles.

5 years later, the man is one of the biggest food retailers in the US
He started to plan his family's future, and decided to have a life insurance.

He called an insurance broker, and chose a protection plan.
When the conversation was concluded the broker asked him his email.
The man replied,'I don't have an email.'
The broker answered curiously, 'You don't have an email, and yet have
succeeded to build an empire. Can you imagine what you could have been
if you had an e mail?!!' The man thought for a while and replied,
'Yes, I'd be an office boy at Microsoft!'

So, if we work hard even without using internet we can be a millionaire =) So i'm going to start selling tomatoes. haha! How about you?

How to Make Gumpaste

This weekend I took Gumpaste Flower Making Course for two days since I have passion in baking why not taking this course. It will add beauty to my cake decoration. I post here one of the finished product I made which is the red rose. Our mentor let us used air brush to enhance the color. Cute isn't it? Here is the recipe if you want to make one at your home. It's very easy.

INGREDIENTS:

2 tbsp. Unflavored Gelatin
2/3 cups Cold water
8 cups Confectioner's Sugar

Prodecure:

1. Sprinkle the unflavored gelatin over the cold water and stir until well blended. Allow gelatin to set.
2. When set, put the mixture on top of a double boiler and cook until gelatin is fully dissolved. Do not use wire whisk so that gelatin will not pick-up air.
3. Measure powdered sugar in a clean table. Make a well at the center and pour gelatin mixture.
4. Stir in the powdered sugar into the liquid. Knead until smooth and pliable. Add powdered sugar if necessary.
5. Store in airtight container.

Out of Town in Glan Gumasa Photos

I was on baking class when my cellphone vibrate. Got a text from my friend kane telling me that we'll go to Gumasa Beach overnight at 4 pm. It is 45 minutes from my City. So I replied "YES" I'll join with them. It was 9 of us there. We had some BBQ party at the beach, played some cards. Few didn't join including myself and it's not my cup of tea playing cards with money involve. So I just joyfully watched them. I love Gumasa beach so much, water is lucid, white sand and wonderful sunset. We slept around 3 A.M. and woke up at 6;30 A.M. Some went to the beach and few of us prepared our breakfast. After taking our breakfast, we continued playing the card game without money involve this time. I attach here some photos of the beach, view on our way home and the tent where I slept.

What can you say to this wonderful beach? For sure if you guys are there you won't think twice to jump into the water..Have a nice day!

Seafood Lovers

I’m fun collecting recipes that's why I'm currently on my culinary training right now. I'm searching for a recipe which the main ingredient is a shrimp. If you have shrimps preparation in your table it's considered special viand here in Philippines. Luckily, I came across to a cook off website which is Great American Seafood Cook Off 2008. Wow! There were five Chef’s competing. All recipes are great. I prefer and choose Louisiana Shrimp and Andouille Cassoulet by Chef Brian Landry in Louisiana because I’m a shrimp lover and I find it easy to prepare the ingredients is easy to find here in my city. It’s also perfect to prepare for your family and friends. Surely, 100% they will love this scrumptious food. I can’t wait to try this one. I just cast my vote to the recipe which I really like. . I'll just alter Michelob Amber beer to save some cost into a soda. Cool isn’t it? I love the herbs being used on this recipe as well. Using domestic seafood can help our economy rise, we can assure that it's fresh, very nutritious, affordable and delicious.

If you love to cook for your family, why don’t you visit the site www.GreatAmericanSeafoodCookOff.com and try their recipes and cast your votes as well. I assured you that you won’t regret because you have also a chance to win a Trip to New Orleans. Isn’t it great? What are you waiting for? Come and vote now!
